Back to the Browns of Barkerville. I was very interested in Catherine Brown's mother, Maria Moeckel, but I couldn't find her in the BC Vital records, that is until I ask myself, what if she remarried, after all she was a widow. Yes, she married a Mr. Hagarman in 1882 in Barkerville and died there in 1889.

Maria is died in Barkerville on July 23, 1889. I didn't have this information with me when I visited Barkerville, last month, but I presume that she is buried there in the old section of the cemetery.

The marriage record provides us with her father (Johanas Warner) and mother's name ( Anna Elizabeth Petzener) which I am now researching on Family Search. The familysearch.org site has the records for Oberhessen if anyone else is interested in doing some family research.

I am still looking for immigration records for Maria and her daughter Maria. I can't find Maria's husband's death either, Johann Heinrich Moeckel.  Ideas are welcome!
